महामाया मंदिर रतनपुर (छ.ग.)Mahamaya Mandir, Ratanpur, Chhattisgarh
आदिशक्ति माँ महामाया देवी (Addishakti Ma Mahamaya Devi) की पौराणिक नगरी रतनपुर छत्तीसगढ़ के बिलासपुर से 25 किलोमीटर की दूरी पर स्थित है। इसका इतिहास प्राचीन और गौरवशाली है। छत्तीसगढ़ में त्रिपुरी कलचुरियों की एक शाखा ने दीर्घकाल तक रतनपुर को अपनी राजधानी बनाकर शासन किया। यह कल्चुरी वंश के राजा रत्नदेव प्रथम द्वारा निर्मित है, इसे 11 वीं शताब्दी में बनाया गया था। राजा रत्नदेव प्रथम ने मणिपुर नामक गांव को रतनपुर नाम देकर अपनी राजधानी बनायीं। एक वीरा देवी, इसका निर्माण रत्नदेव तृतीय के मंत्री गंगाधर राव ने बनवाया था।

मंदिर का मंडप नागर शैली में बनी है, जो 16 स्तम्भों पर टिका हुआ है। गर्भगृह में आदिशक्ति माँ महामाया की साढ़े तीन फ़ीट ऊँची प्रस्तर की भव्य प्रतिमा विराजमान है। माँ के प्रतिमा की पृष्ठ भाग में माँ सरस्वती की प्रतिमा होने की मान्यता है, जो वर्तमान में विलुप्त मानी जाती है।
आदिशक्ति माँ महामाया देवी मंदिर निर्माण के संबंध में कई किद्वन्तियाँ है -

> माता सती का स्कन्ध गिरा (Mata Sati Ka Skandh Gira)-
यह मान्यता है की भगवान शिव माता सती की मृत्यु से व्यथित होकर उनके शरीर को लेकर ब्रम्हाण्ड में भटक रहे थे। जिन-जिन स्थानों पर माता सती के अंग गिरे वहां शक्तिपीठ बन गए। जिसे शक्तिपीठ की मान्यता मिली। माता सती की दाहिना स्कन्ध महामाया मंदिर में गिरा था। इसे कौमारी शक्तिपीठ के नाम से जाना जाता है। इस कारण माता के 51 शक्तिपीठों में इस स्थल को शामिल किया गया है।

> राजा रत्नदेव प्रथम द्वारा निर्माण(Raja Ratndev Pratham Dwara Nirman) -
राजा रत्नदेव प्रथम 1045 ई. में मणिपुर नामक गांव में एक वट वृक्ष पर रात्रि विश्राम किया। अर्द्धरात्रि में जब राजा की आँख खुली तो उन्होंने पाया कि वट वृक्ष के नीचे अलौकिक प्रकाश में आदिशक्ति श्री महामाया देवी की सभा लगी हुई है। यह देखकर वे विस्मृत होकर अपनी चेतना खो गए। सुबह हुई तो वे अपनी राजधानी तुमान के लिए लौट गए और उन्होंने अपनी राजधानी रतनपुर में बनने का संकल्प लेकर 1050 ई. में आदिशक्ति श्री महामाया देवी का भव्य मंदिर का निर्माण कराया।
नोट - सभी भक्तों के लिए मुफ्त दर्शन है, कोई पूर्व बुकिंग की आवश्यकता नहीं है। मंदिर सुबह 6:00 बजे खुलता है। दोपहर 12 :00 से 12 :30 तक भोग समय में मंदिर का पट बंद रहता है। सामान्य दिनों में 08 :00 PM बजे को मंदिर बंद हो जाता है। नवरात्रि के दिनों में 12:00 बजे तक मंदिर खुला रहता है। सामान्य दिनों में दर्शन में 30 -45 मिनट लगता है। नवरात्रि के दौरान भारी भीड़ के कारण अधिक समय लग सकता है।

वायु मार्ग से - यह स्वामी विवेकानंद एयरपोर्ट, रायपुर से 141 किमी की दूरी पर स्थित है। जहाँ के लिए दिल्ली, मुंबई, कोलकाता, चेन्नई, हैदराबाद, बैंगलोर आदि के लिए सीधी विमान सेवा उपलब्ध है।
सड़क मार्ग से - बिलासपुर से 25 किमी की दूरी पर है, रतनपुर के लिए हर एक घंटे में बस सेवा निरंतर उपलब्ध है।
रेल मार्ग से - बिलासपुर रेलवे स्टेशन, जोकि रतनपुर से 25 किमी की दूरी पर है। यह सबसे नजदीकी रेलवे स्टेशन है। यह रेल जोन भी है। सभी रूट के लिए गाड़ी मिलेगी।

Ratanpur, the mythological city of Mahamaya Devi, is situated at a distance of 25 km from Bilaspur in Chhattisgarh. Its history is ancient and glorious. In Chhattisgarh, a branch of the Tripuri Kalchuris ruled Ratanpur as their capital for a long time. It is built by King Ratnadeva-I of the Kalchuri dynasty, it was built in the 11th century. He made Ratanpur his capital by giving a village called Manipur. A Veera Devi, it was built by Gangadhar Rao, a minister of Ratnadeva III.

The Mandapa of the temple is built in the Nagara Style, which rests on 16 pillars. In the sanctum sanctorum, a grand statue of Adi Shakti Mahamaya three and a half feet high stone sits. In the back part of the statue of Mother, there is a recognition of the statue of Mother Saraswati, which is currently considered extinct.

> Mother Sati's Wings fell -
It is believed that Lord Shiva was disturbed by the death of Mother Sati and wandering in the universe with her body. Shaktipeeth became the place where Mother Sati fell. Which got the recognition of Shaktipeeth. The right wing of Mata Sati fell in the Mahamaya temple. It is known as Kaumari Shaktipeeth. For this reason, this place has been included in 51 Shakti Peeths of Mata.
> Construction by King Ratnadeva I -
Raja Ratnadeva first stayed the night in 1045 AD on a Vat tree in a village called Manipur. When the king's eye opened at midnight, he found that under the Vat tree, a gathering of Adishakti Sri Mahamaya Devi was engaged in supernatural light. Seeing this, he was oblivious and lost his consciousness. In the morning, he returned to his capital Tuman and he resolved to build his capital in Ratanpur and built a grand temple of Adishakti Sri Mahamaya Devi in 1050 AD.
Note - There is free darshan for all devotees, no pre booking is required. The temple opens at 6:00 am. From 12:00 to 12:30 in the afternoon, the patta of the temple is closed during Bhog time. The temple is closed at 08:00 PM on normal days. The temple remains open till 12:00 am on Navratri. Darshan takes 30-45 minutes on normal days. During Navratri it may take longer due to heavy crowd.

By Air - It is located 141 km from Swami Vivekananda Airport, Raipur. Where direct flights are available to Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata, Chennai, Hyderabad, Bangalore etc.
By Road - At a distance of 25 km from Bilaspur, bus service to Ratanpur is available every hour.
By Rail - Bilaspur railway station, which is 25 km from Ratanpur. It is the nearest railway station. It is also a rail zone. Train will be available for all routes.
